卓上の鬼神 Demon of the Tabletop[1]Tabletop is used in many contexts to refer to theory. Together, they mean something like a fearsome master of theorycraft.
Summary of changes:
- The reason the pro-Imperial and anti-Imperial factions have the same strength is because Claude manipulated them to be.
- Rather than entering/leaving Derdriu being difficult, there was a large volume of people entering and leaving.
- Marianne tries to justify herself to Hilda.

落とせたことで、状況は変わった。 - 帝国から兵站線を伸ばすことなく、

反帝国派の同盟諸侯の旗印。 - リーガン家を滅ぼせば、諸侯は
雪崩を打ってこちらにつくでしょう。 - そのためにも、デアドラ陥落という
事実が必要不可欠なのです。 - > 「頑張ろう」
ヒューベルト: 気楽に言いますな、先生。

ヒューベルト: 間違いなく手強い相手でしょう。

Edelgard: Definitely. He appears to do incoherent things while forcing the impossible to happen. He does that, even now. - In an unthinkable manner, using only his cunning, he has been protecting the Leicester Alliance.

Edelgard: I didn’t get that kind of impression. But, you have a sharp eye. - He became the Alliance leader and has been protecting all of the Leicester Alliance, after all.
- > 「How did he do it?」
Edelgard: At first, the Alliance’s opinion appeared to be split in half between pro-Imperial and anti-Imperial factions。 - However, behind all that, Claude acted as an intermediary between all the lords and brought them all together.
- After he equalized the power of the two factions, they made an agreement to not cause any further harm to each other…
- By starting and ending small clashes, they’ve been containing the Empire’s intervention to a minimum.
- Hubert: Kukuku… He really dared to pull off that kind of risky maneuver.
- Though that plan is like treading on thin ice… One false step and the Alliance will have no choice but to collapse.
- Putting that aside… Lady Edelgard. We must hurry with the invasion of the Riegan territory.
- It appears that Claude is plotting something nefarious again.
- Edegalrd: Claude is?
- Hubert: Yes. The amount of people entering and leaving their capital city of Derdriu has been intensifying.
- It is natural that they are making preparations for war, I think there may be some kind of other plan here.
- We should take Derdriu at once, should we not?
- Edelgard: Derdriu, known as the “Capital of Water”… The capital city floats on the sea, making it hard to attack.
- Because it is deep within Riegan territory, we couldn’t dispatch troops to attack it directly.
- However with the taking of the Great Bridge of Myriddin, the situation has changed.
- We will invade Riegan territory without stretching out the supply chain from the Empire.
- Hubert: House Riegan, and thus Claude, wields the banner of the Alliance’s anti-Imperial faction.
- If we were to overthrow House Riegan, I’m sure the lords would be swarming to come over to our side.
- For that to happen as well, it is imperative that Derdriu falls.

Hubert: You say that so happy-go-lucky, Teacher. How do you evaluate that man? - > 「Looks difficult」
Hubert: He is without a doubt a difficult opponent. I wonder how you evaluate that man, Teacher. - The new Alliance Leader Claude, people call him things.

Edelgard: Since the beginning, territories within the Alliance have been split between those who support the Empire and those who oppose it. - Claude has been acting as an intermediary between the two, essentially keeping the Alliance pacified
- As both sides are of equal strength, he’s created a situation in which they’ve all agreed to avoid fighting each other and causing undue bloodshed.
- By carrying on as though the Alliance is united, he’s minimized the Empire’s influence there.
- Hubert: Heh. It’s quite impressive how well his bold scheme has worked out.
- However, he is walking on thin ice. One wrong move and the Alliance will shatter.
- Speaking of Claude… Your Majesty, we should not delay in our invasion of the Alliance.
- It would seem that Claude has some fresh scheme up his sleeve, to no one’s surprise.
- Edegalrd: Is that so?
- Hubert: Yes. The people of Derdriu have suddenly found it difficult to leave or enter the city.
- We can safely assume he is preparing for battle, but I am certain his plans extend beyond that as well.
- Do you not think we should take Derdriu at once?
- Edelgard: Derdriu, the Aquatic Capital… A city floating on the ocean certainly poses a challenge.

- He is a master at handling the Devil Bow[2]The character here for devil may also be the same as magic. The characters for magic are literally “devil acts”.

- Lindhart: Crushing wouldn’t yield a lot of pieces, but I guess it would get the job done. With the Professor we can’t lose…probably.
- Well, as long as Teacher is here, we won’t lose. No matter who the opponent is, maybe.
- Bernadetta: Oh no, are we fighting Lady Rhea? But she’s scary! And she’ll be really angry!
- But no way she can stay in her spooky beast form all the time…right?
- Dorothea: If she could, she would have come and attacked the monastery as many times as she wanted.
