Opening 1

  • 帝国暦１１８５年。アドレステア皇帝エーデ
    ルガルトの即位から、およそ５年の時が経過
    していたが、フォドラの大地はいまだ混迷の
    渦中にあった。
  • ファーガス神聖王国では、新王ディミトリが
    ガルグ＝マクを追われた大司教レアとセイロ
    ス騎士団を王都に迎え、協力体制を整えつつ
    王国西部で帝国軍と攻防を繰り広げている。
  • レスター諸侯同盟領では、盟主クロードが同
    盟諸侯を意図的に反目させることで均衡を保
    たせ、中立を装いながら帝国の介入を防いで
    いる。
  • そんな中、黒鷲遊撃軍シュヴァルツァアドラーヴェーアを組織したエーデルガ
    ルトは、戦線の膠着を打開すべく新たな動き
    に出ようとしていた。
  • Imperial Year 1185. Around five years have passed since Edelgard ascended the throne, but the lands of Fodlan are still in the midst of turmoil.
  • In the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, the new king Dimitri welcomed Archbishop Rhea and the Knights of Seiros who were chased out of Garreg Mach to the royal capital, setting up a cooperative regime while rolling out attacks and defenses against the Imperial Army in the western part of the Kingdom.
  • In the Leicester Alliance, Alliance Leader Claude maintains an equilibrium by intentionally forcing hostilities while pretending to be neutral, preventing the Empire’s intervention.
  • Meanwhile, Edelgard, who organized the Black Eagle Strike ForceSchwarz Adler Wehr, attempts a new maneuver in order to break the stalemate on the battlefront.
  • It is Imperial Year 1185. Half a decade has passed since Emperor Edelgard ascended the Imperial throne, yet the continent of Fódlan still remains lost in a tempest of turmoil and bloodshed.
  • In the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, King Dimitri has welcomed Archbishop Rhea and her knights, who were driven out of Garreg Mach, to the Kingdom capital. As they work to build a unified front, the war with the Empire rages on to the west.
  • Meanwhile, Claude, leader of the Alliance, staves off Imperial intervention by strategically stirring up conflicts between Leicester lords in an effort to feign neutrality.
  • As events unfold, Edelgard and her Black Eagle Strike Force begin to take action in an attempt to break the war’s current state of deadlock.

    いくらおぬしでもそれは許されんぞ！

    まったくいつまでも世話が焼ける……

    村人: 大修道院の麓の村さ。
    あんた、こんなとこで何してんだ？

    村人: そこの村の者さ。

    流れてきた時は驚いたよ。
  • 川の上流といやガルグ＝マクだろ？
    あっこはすっかり寂れちまったからな。

  • あれから５年、根強く住んでる連中も

  • 街を治めてるのは、今や帝国軍なんだぞ。

    頭でも打ったんじゃねえだろうな。
  • 今は１１８５年の、星辰の節。大修道院が
    陥落してから、もう５年近くになる。
  • 本当なら明日は千年祭の日だったが、
    それどころじゃねえからなあ。

    村人: ああ。だけど、この戦争ばかりのご時世、
    それに大司教様も行方知れずとくりゃ——
  • この世の誰だって、
    祝福なんて気持ちにはなれんだろうさ。
  • って、お、おい！
    あんた、どこに行く気だ！
  • > 「大修道院」
    村人: しょ、正気か！？
    帝国軍がいんだぞ？
  • 悪いことは言わねえ。
    大修道院に行くのはやめとけ。
  • お、俺は止めたからな……？
    死んでも知らねえぞ？
  • > 「生徒たちが待っている」
    村人: 生徒だあ……？　あそこにゃ子供なんて
    ほとんどいねえよ、馬鹿かあんた！
  • > 「心配はいらない」
  • 村人: おい！

  • ???: …Byleth, Byleth. How long are you going to sleep?
  • Your body should already be awake. Open those eyes and stand on those feet.
  • Blood rains down again and again, and the earth is crying.  Pierced by spears and falling arrows, it is crying.
  • Everyone, to the point of having to hurt others in order to survive, stands at the precipice of suffering, crying.
  • The only one who can take in[1]lit. to swallow.  Just like in English, to swallow in Japanese also means to understand.  Potentially has a double meaning. all of that is me… No, you.

    ???: Haaaa…[2]Angry Sothis noises. You big dumb fool!  You truly have not changed one bit, have you?!
  • > 「Who…?」
    ???: Haaaa…? Are you saying you forgot about me?! Even if it’s you, I’m not going to forgive that!
  • ???: Get up, get up! I’m done spoiling you! Good grief, you always need someone else to help you…
  • Villager: …Oi! You, are you awake?
  • > 「This place is…?」
    Villager: The village at the base of the monastery. What are you doing in a place like this?
  • > 「You are…?」
    Villager: Someone from that village over there. What are you doing in a place like this?
  • Villager: …I was surprised when you came down the river.
  • I mean, isn’t Garreg Mach upstream? Cuz that place is completely deserted.[3]The villager speaks in regional dialect.  Possibly Nagano dialect?
  • > 「What do you mean?」
    Villager: …Ya mean you don’t know? The Church of Seiros ain’t there anymore.
  • It’s been five years and I’m sure there’s some folks who’ve stuck their roots and kept living here , but…
  • The ones who manage the town now are the Imperial Army.
  • > 「Five years…?」
    > 「What year is it now?」
    Villager: …Hey, are you okay? You didn’t get hit on the head, did ya?
  • It’s 1185, Constellation Moon right now. It’s been close to five years since the monastery fell.
  • Actually, tomorrow was going to be the day of the Millennium Festival, but that’s beside the point.
  • > 「The Millennium Festival…」
    Villager: Yep.  However, in an age where there’s nothing except this war, plus if the Archbishop’s gone missing—
  • I’m sure nobody in this world feels like there’s any such things as blessings.
  • O-oi! Where do you think you’re going?!
  • > 「The monastery」
    Villager: A-are you insane?! The Imperial Army is there, you know?
  • I’m telling you this for your own good. Just give up on going to the monastery.
  • I-I’m not going to persuade you anymore, okay…?   I don’t care if you die, got it?!
  • > 「My students are waiting」
    Villager: “Students”…?　There’s hardly any kids up there, are you stupid?!
  • > 「No need to worry」
  • Villager: Oi! …Good grief, he’s serious.
  • ???: You… How long do you intend to sleep?
  • Your body is awake. Your eyes must open now, and you must find the strength to stand upon those legs of yours.
  • Like so much rain, a pool of blood has fallen to the ground… As spears and arrows pierce the earth, it weeps. And even now…it weeps.

  • Villager: Hey! A-Are you awake?
  • > 「Where am I?」
    Villager: We’re in a village at the base of the monastery. What are you doing in a place like this?
  • > 「Who are you?」
    Villager: I’m just a villager here. What are you doing in a place like this?
  • Villager: I honestly didn’t expect to find someone floating away down the river…
  • Garreg Mach is upstream of here, but that place was abandoned.
  • > 「What do you mean?」
    Villager: Huh? You don’t know? The Church of Seiros isn’t there anymore.
  • Though there have been some folks still living there in the five years since…
  • Well, you know. Regardless, the Imperial Army has taken over now.
  • > 「Five years?」
    > 「What year is it?」
    Villager: Um, are you feeling all right? You didn’t hit your head or anything did you?
  • It’s the Ethereal Moon of the year 1185. It’s been nearly five years since the monastery fell.
  • Tomorrow was supposed to be the Millennium Festival, but who’s got time to think about things like that?

    Villager: Uh, yeah, that’s what I said.
  • But with the war and the archbishop still missing and all, I doubt there’s a soul to be found who has enough blessings worth counting.
  • Hey! Slow down, will ya? Where do you think you’re going?
  • > 「The monastery.」
    Villager: Are you crazy?! The Imperial Army is there!
  • Come on, I promise I won’t say you’re a coward. Just forget about going anywhere near the monastery.
  • You just remember I tried to stop you, got it? It’s not on my conscience if you wind up dead.
  • > 「My students are waiting for me.」
    Villager: Students? You really are crazy, aren’t you? There aren’t any kids anywhere near that place anymore.

  • Villager:  Unbelievable…

  • エーデルガルト: 今日で、ちょうど５年……。
  • 何も起こらなければ、ガルグ＝マクの
    千年祭が盛大に祝われていたはずね……。
  • ん、誰が……っ！？
  • ……せん……せい！？
  • ……本当に、……本物？
    あれだけ探しても見つからなかったのに……
  • 師せんせい……今まで何をしていたの？
    どこにいたの？
  • ……なぜここに。
  • > 「眠っていた」
    > 「死んでいた」
    エーデルガルト: こんな時に冗談なんて……。
    師せんせいが姿を消してから５年も経ったのよ。

    どれほど心折れそうだったと思っているの！
  • 方々を探して、見つからなくて、
    でもきっと生きていると信じて……
  • ５年間、ずっと戦ってきたわ。

    戦線は膠着しているわ。
  • 教団に協力する王国は新王ディミトリの下、
    それなりの結束を見せているし……
  • 同盟はクロードに上手く引っ掻き回されて、
    内輪揉めを装った中立を保っている。
  • その状況を打開するため、遊撃軍を修道院に
    入れて機会を窺っていたのだけれど……
  • 貴方が加わってくれれば、
    一気に戦局を動かす算段がつく。
  • 敵対する王国軍や同盟諸侯……そして
    セイロス教団を打ち破る時が来たのよ。

    エーデルガルト: 学級は違えど、かつて同じ学校で
    共に過ごした仲間たち……。

    エーデルガルト: レアやセテス、それに騎士団の面々は
    健在よ。今は王都に本拠を置いているわ。
  • まだ“白きもの”やその眷属が
    戦線に出てくることはないけれど……
  • いつかは倒さねばならない相手。

  • …Is it really… are you the real thing? Even though I searched as much as I did and couldn’t find you…
  • Master… what have you been doing until now? Where were you?

    Edelgard: How could you be joking at a time like this… Five years have passed since you vanished, Master.
  • Can you imagine… how regretful I was… How heartbroken I was?!
  • Looking all over, finding nothing, but still believing that you were surely alive…
  • I kept on fighting throughout these five years you know.  I led everyone and, with all my heart, I kept on fighting.
  • …Welcome back.  I’m glad you’re safe.
  • …It was five years ago, but it feels as though the past is so distant, doesn’t it?
  • Do you… even now, still feel the same way you did five years ago?
  • That time when you saved me and made enemies with a lot of people by choosing to fight with me.
  • For me, not a single thing has changed. My resolve has not wavered in the slightest.
  • I will bring down the lies of the Goddess, overcome countless sacrifices, then grasp and show everyone the true meaning of a world of man.

  • As under the new king Dimitri, who is working with the church, they appear to have some semblance of unity…
  • The Alliance has been properly thrown into a mess by Claude, who pretends to maintain neutrality to hide their internal conflict.
  • We brought in the strike force to the monastery to wait for a chance to break that stalemate, but…
  • If you were to join, we can shift the war situation straight away.
  • The time has come to destroy the Kingdom Army and the Alliance who oppose us… and then the Church of Seiros.

    Edelgard: Even though we weren’t in the same class, they were friends at the same school we spent time together with in the past…

  • Dimitri is the new King of Faerghus. It’s clear that his territory will continue to support the church.
  • Meanwhile, Claude’s leadership has thrown the Alliance into chaos. He maintains neutrality in their internal conflict.
  • The situation has created a deadlock. We’ve been awaiting an opportunity for our squadron to return to the monastery.
  • With you in the fray, I believe the state of the war will shift immediately.
  • The Church, as well as the Kingdom and the Alliance… The time has come to eliminate them all.
  • > 「The Kingdom and the Alliance…」
    Edelgard: Although we were of different houses, we were companions who lived and learned together.
  • Some of our ranks are hesitant to battle against them.
  • However, knowing that you’re alive is sure to raise their spirits.
  • > 「The Church of Seiros……」
    Edelgard: Rhea, Seteth, the knights, and the others are in prime condition. They’ve set up their base within the Kingdom capital.
  • The Immaculate One and her family have yet to fight on the front lines.
  • However, we must eventually face and defeat them. It would mean a great deal to have you with us when the time comes.
  • Edelgard: Good. Well then, I believe it’s time for a little reunion.
  • The Black Eagle Strike Force never lost faith. They knew you were alive and have been awaiting your return. Let’s not keep them waiting any longer.

Event: 紅花燃ゆる道 (The Path Ablaze with Safflowers)

  • ヒューベルト: これは懐かしい顔ですな。
    先生ではありませんか。ご無事で何より。
  • ベルナデッタ: 先生！　先生ーっ！　ベルです！
    わかりますか！？　生きてたんですね……！
  • カスパル: うおおおお！　今、俺たちは翼を得た！
    こんな嬉しいことがあんのかよ！　夢か！？
  • ペトラ: 夢、違います。先生、最高です。
    挨拶、覚えました……お帰りなさいませ。
  • フェルディナント: 貴方のいない遊撃軍は、どうにもぱっと
    しない気がしてね……嬉しいよ。
  • ドロテア: ５年ぶりね。貴方にまた会えて、
    生きる希望が湧いてきたわ……。
  • リンハルト: やった、これは楽をでき……
    先生が無事で良かった。感動してます。
  • エーデルガルト: 久々の再会はどうかしら、師せんせい。
    皆も嬉しそうね。
  • カスパル: 何だよ、エーデルガルト。
    お前が一番嬉しいんだろ？
  • 先生の行方がわからなくなって、
    めちゃくちゃ荒れてたもんなあ……。
  • フェルディナント: もちろん我々も尽力してきたがね、
    先生がいればと思わない日はなかったよ。
  • ドロテア: エーデルちゃんは皇帝で、先頭に立って
    私たちを導いてくれる存在だったけど……
  • その背を押してくれる支えとなってたのは、
    先生だったって、いなくなって気づいた。
  • ペトラ: わたしたち、悔しい、ですけれど、
    力、足りません。

  • エーデルガルト: 貴方を慕い、貴方の指揮で戦うことを
    望んだ仲間よ。私を含めてね。
  • ヒューベルト: 黒鷲遊撃軍シュヴァルツァアドラーヴェーアの再始動、といきましょう。
    標的はすでに定まっています。
  • エーデルガルト: ええ、王国と教団、この二つとの全面対決に
    踏み切る前に、同盟領を落とすわ。
  • といっても、すべての同盟諸侯を
    蹂躙するわけではない。
  • 反帝国の旗印であるリーガン家……
    その領都デアドラが、当面の目標よ。
  • ヒューベルト: まずは、同盟領と帝国領とを分かつ
    アミッド大河を越えなければなりません。
  • そのためにも大河にかかる橋の一つ……
    ミルディン大橋を落とすというわけです。
  • ミルディンは修道院と帝都を東回りに繋ぐ、
    最短の進路上にありますからな。
  • エーデルガルト: 橋には同盟軍の砦が築かれている。
    それを奪って北上のための橋頭堡とするわ。
  • 同時に、橋を防衛しているダフネル家の
    ジュディットを討つ。
  • そのままダフネル領を押さえることが
    できれば……かなりの優位に立てるの。
  • 皆、気合を入れて。
    次の戦いは大きな意味を持つ。
  • この戦乱の世に幕を下ろす第一歩……
    終わりの始まりよ。
  • Hubert: Now there’s a face that brings me back. If it isn’t Teacher. Glad to see you’re safe.[4]Literally, nothing is more important than safety.
  • Bernadetta: Teacher! Teacherrr! It’s Beru! Do you recognize me?! So you were alive…!

  • Petra: This is, different from a dream. Teacher, is the best. I remembered, the greeting… “I welcome you back”.[5]While the polite form for “welcome back” is Okaerinasai, Petra uses an even politer form “Okaerinasaimase” that is used for someone who is clearly a superior, like your boss.
  • Ferdinand: The Strike Force felt somewhat lackluster without you… I’m delighted.
  • Dorothea: It’s been five years since we last met.  Being able to see you, I feel my will to live surging back again.
  • Lindhart: Wonderful, now I can take it eas… Uh, glad you’re safe, Teacher. I’m deeply moved.
  • Edelgard: How’s the long-awaited reunion, Master? Everyone seems happy as well.
  • Caspar: You more than anyone, Edelgard. You’re the happiest one here, aren’t you?
  • When she didn’t know where you were, she became a mess and fell apart…
  • Ferdinand: Of course, we’ve also been working our very hardest, but there wasn’t a day we didn’t think “If only Teacher were here”.
  • Dorothea: Currently as emperor, Edel-chan has been standing on the front lines and leading us, but…

  • Hubert: Let us start the Black Eagle Strike ForceSchwarz Adler Wehr anew. Our target has already been decided.
  • Edelgard: Yes, the Kingdom and the Church, before we can launch an all-out confrontation with those two, we must take out the Alliance.
  • Though with that said, it’s not like we have to trample the entire Alliance.
  • Our current target is House Riegan who waves the banner of those opposing the Empire … and their capital city Derdriu.
  • Hubert: First, we must cross over the Airmid River which divides the Kingdom and the Alliance.
  • To do that, it means we must also take the Great Bridge of Myriddin…  one of the bridges crossing the great river.
  • Myriddin connects the monastery and the Imperial Capital to the east, and is on the shortest path.
  • Edelgard: The Alliance has constructed a fortress on the bridge. We will attempt to capture that and establish a bridgehead to head north.
  • At the same time, we will kill Judith of House Daphnel, who is defending the bridge.
  • After that, if we can seize control of the Daphnel territory… we will gain a considerable advantage.

  • In the Leicester Alliance, Alliance Leader Claude plays a part in the struggle between pro-Imperial and anti-Imperial factions while maintaining a facade of neutrality.
  • On the other side, the Black Eagle Strike ForceSchwarz Adler Wehr lead by Edelgard, prior to the all-out confrontation with the Kingdom and the Church, decides to gain total control of the Alliance.
  • Their eyes set on the capture of the capital of the House Riegan territory, Derdriu, as well as establishing a bridgehead to do so, they begin to march their army towards the Great Bridge of Myriddin.
  • The newly crowned king of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, Dimitri, has declared fealty to the Church of Seiros and is raising an army in preparation for all-out war with the Empire.
  • As the leader of the Alliance, Claude maintains a facade of neutrality amidst infighting between those who support and those who oppose the Empire.
  • Meanwhile, the Black Eagle Strike Force plans to capture Alliance territory before Edelgard takes the war to the Kingdom and Church of Seiros.
  • With sights set on capturing Derdriu at the center of House Riegan’s territory, she leads a march across the Great Bridge of Myrddin to establish a bridgehead.
