My first KanColle request after my hiatus, it’s nice to return to a Kinema106 song (mostly because I know Tom and don’t need to ask permission to repost his videos on my channel). This song devoted to the Abyssal Jellyfish Princess has all of the awesome hallmarks of a Kinema106 abyssal song: Striking aggressive dark vocals, English-Japanese wordplay, usage of WW2 codes, and a secret encoded message for us to decipher. Decoding the hidden message:
The nonsensical part of the lyrics form a grid. The clues given throughout the song tell you how to manipulate this grid.
The song tells you to “cut off a cross” from the grid, then “paint over what disappears”. There are only two lines in the grid that are sentences, one horizontal and one vertical (this happens to be in the exact center). The two lines are “HI KA RI KA GA YA KU MI CHI” (THE PATH WHERE THE LIGHT SHINES) and “I NO CHI GA KI E RU” (LIFE DISAPPEARS). Since both these things have disappeared for the singer, you must then remove all characters used in the phrase in order to reveal the “reality”. However, the word “disappear” remains in the grid.
This yields a sentence: コアは 弾けて 全部 溶けて 消える 青空と希望 明日も 消える (The core bursts and everything melts away. Even the blue sky, hope, and tomorrow will disappear.) The core most likely refers to the nuclear payload of an atomic bomb erasing the hope for a peaceful future.
