  • As if being trapped, the miracle[6]鬼籍 (ledger of death) is pronounced “kiseki”, the same as 奇跡 (miracle). I exposed
  • was myself in the ledger of death[7]鬼籍 is a registry of the dead kept by the Enma (a.k.a. Yama) of Hell in Buddhist mythology.  When the Enma writes your name in this book, you die and demons bring your soul to Hell for judgement.  The Enma’s book also contains a list of every living person’s lifespan.  A Japanese euphemism for death is “entering the Enma’s book”.  Sumireko came looking for hidden truths to prove her superiority, only to realize she fell into a trap and is now stuck in Hell.
